Construction Skills Certification Scheme
The CSCS Scheme provides confirmation that trades people, managers and professionals working in the building and construction industry have achieved the necessary competence required to work on site.
The Scheme keeps a database of those working in construction that achieve, or working towards an agreed level of occupational competence. CSCS cards are increasingly demanded as evidence of occupational competence by contractors, public and private clients and others, and today there are over 1.7 million cards in circulation.
CSCS cards are specific to a particular occupation and level of competence ranging from Level 2 (Craft) to Level 7 (Senior Construction Managers) and all applicants are required to pass an online Health Safety & Environment Test appropriate to the level of card required.
Successful applicants are issued with a card giving them a means of identification and proof of their achievements. This will either be a full card to those who meet the requirements or an Experienced Worker Card for those working towards a recognised qualification. Graduates may also apply for a graduate card.
Cards cost £30 and the Health, Safety & Environment Test is £17.50
